Girls Sewing Weekend

Girls sewing weekend has been in the works for awhile. And it finally happened! My mother in law, two sister in laws, daughter and I headed up north to a resort for a few days.We didn’t make it to the resort until fairly late in the evening because we HAD to stop at the best quilt shop EVER. Seriously…the wheels in my head turn at turbo speed in there with all the inspiration and talent that abounds.Our cabin had a kitchen so we never ate out even once! We all took turns making meals. And I’m pretty sure we all consumed enough butter, cream cheese, and cheese for an entire year. There was also a lot of coffee and wine!

The weekend started out with a bang…literally…when my toddler woke up the first night at 2:30am and threw up all over her pack ‘n play, the floor and my sister in laws bed. The cabin had a washer and dryer thankfully! The three of us in that room got little to no sleep that night. But my toddler rebounded and was fine for the most part for the rest of the weekend.

After a few days my husband and brother in law joined us as well. My toddler was seriously in heaven being surrounded and loved on by her Nana, aunts and uncle 24/7. The fact that my sister in law rocked my daughter and essentially let her throw up in her bed while I cleaned up the first mess…that’s true love.

We did some shopping, sledding, and swimming in between as well. When I’m up there I love absorbing all that kitschy north woods decor that is everywhere. We did manage to make a success of the sewing portion though as all four of us ladies finished the fronts for our quilts!
